Style fashion week launched its sophomore season October 11, 2011 during market week in downtown Los Angeles.
THE EVENT HOSTED SHOWS SUCH AS GYPSY 05, FUTURE HERETICS, LALALAND AND MORE! For the second time, the six day production an elite lineup of designers showcasing their Spring 2012 collections. Fashion industry leaders, media and celebrity guests witnessed an eclectic and dynamic montage of designs, from swim-wear to vintage-inspired pin-up looks. All shows took place at LA Downtown's inspiring former cathedral VIBIANA, that was turned into an event venue a few years ago. Upon entering the historical place, the senses are indulged. A gilded foyer leads into the main hall, where the baroque columns that frame the room reach 45 feet upward to the ornate arched ceilings. During the day, the space is illuminated with light that pours in from grand windows that offer up the skyline of the city. At night the space is transformed – the neutral walls can be splashed in every imaginable color of light, somber of spectacular, suitable for any palate.
Karim Atash, owner and creative director of New Image Productions and Michael Designs is also co-owner of Style Fashion Week LA and in charge of design and production of all shows and events during the Fashion Week.
